ocean light
With the immense ocean of suffering in the world, it sometimes feels as though small tender and caring actions are swallowed into the next crashing wave. So what is one to do? Does one helplessly let the waters toss and turn them about? Does one give up on goodness, on life? Or it possible that even the smallest act of kindness can reveal a beam of light in the sky above, glimmering on the water, illuminating the bleakness of the storm? The acts we deem insignificant are often those with immense consequence. Through the outstretched hand of compassion we transform isolation into a warm embrace. It is our responsibility to hold each other in this way, regardless of the individualism we have championed. Humanity must call on itself to act in accordance with that intelligence and love beyond ourselves, not based on an ideal or a belief, but from the direct perception of what is.
