true love

There can be love only when there is no attachment, when there is no desire to hold, to possess. Where there is possessiveness, there is fear; where there is fear, there is no love.

-Jiddu Krishnmurti

Love is not something to be possessed or accumulated, and it is not the word. So therefore, when you tell the person “I love you”, and yet hinder their freedom through various methods of control and authority, you do not love them. You worship the image you created for them, because it is all you can grasp onto. The images are meaningless in themselves- like smoke. To fall in love is to experience the totality of the person without your projections or interpretations of them. An ever-changing, pristine, gorgeous Truth.

What images have you created and placed value upon in your mind? Your idealistic notions about how reality should be are always coming and going, being destroyed and then reborn again as you move through life. Is there a way to live in which this process comes to a complete end, when the self ceases to create memory? The ego recognizes this idea as its biggest threat, but is really the path to liberation. Surrender to the highest value, that which can never be described with words, that which is. Look upon your guilty heart and burdened mind with the realization of this immense Truth, the immutable reality that is beyond your narrow thoughts. Rejoice and be glad!
